The Rotary Beachside Festival is back again for 2018 and will be held on Sunday, 29th April, 2018. Starting at the Bent Street Boat Ramp, Safety Bay Road, Safety Bay, it is organised by the Rotary Club of Palm Beach WA (Inc).
There will be lots of things to see and do for the whole family, including a vintage car display, high ropes activity, climbing wall, laser tag, dragon boats and running events.
There will be spot prizes on the day from registration number, and you must be present to win prizes.There will be over $2000 in prizes to help get you motivated, and registrations for this event are now open and can be seen at this
link.. There are a number of running events to cater for all ages and abilities, so you can join in and have fun.
The following is a list of events which you can choose from, and all prices include GST:
Individuals2.5 km – $5.50 per person
5 km – $11 per person
10 km – $16.50 per person
21 km – $33 per person
Family passes (2 adults and up to 4 children)
5 km – $27.50 per family
10 km – $38.50 per family
Apart from these races, the Event will include:
Community, Merchandise and Food Stalls
Classic/Vintage Car Display
Dragon Boat Races – rides for the adults and/or children post race.
A watercraft race of SUPS, surf skis, kayaks and dragon boats (to be confirmed at time of writing)
Your entrant race bibs will be available for early collection at:
Insight Physiotherapy, Unit 6 76/95 Chalgrove Ave, Rockingham
(The Radius Apartments, cnr Chalgrove Ave and Goddard St), at the following times:
Friday 27th April - From 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Saturday 28th April - From 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
Organisers are recommending that you collect these bib packs prior to the event to avoid delays on the actual morning.
Registrations will close at midnight on the 22nd April 2018, and no registrations will be available on the day.
TIMES
Start times are as follows:
6:45 am to 6:50 am - Race Briefing – Welcome, Course particulars, safety
6:50 am to 7:00 am - Runners warm-up and assembly
7.00 am -Start of 21 km half marathon
7:15 am - Start of the 10 k run
7:30 am - Start of 5 km run
10:00 am - Start 2.5 k (which allows those competing in previous runs to participate with their children in the 2.5 km Run - No extra charge for this)
10:30 am to 11:00 am - announcement of Winners/Place getters and spot prizes winners
There will be more entertainment for visitors at this event as well as food trucks and some of these include:
Wicked Waffles and Icecream
Cafe2U and Coffee's Hot coffee vans
There will also be some community groups displaying their goods, such as a local photography club, the local art group, as well as a wood-turning group, with more to be announced closer to the date.
Part proceeds from the Rotary Beachside Festival event will go towards supporting their charity beneficiary – projects for the Youth of Rockingham.
