As part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, Crown Melbourne are hosting an intimate five course degustation menu experience with Ross Lusted, an award winning chef who has worked all around the world for the past 30 years.

He now owns Woodcut restaurant at Crown Sydney, the dishes inspired by his upbringing in South Africa and travels overseas – meals prepared in a slow wood-burning oven, seafood cooked over a charcoal fire in a cast iron pot in Croatia, trout from a New Zealand stream crusted in sea salt and smoked over embers.

What is distinctive about Lusted's dishes is they are mostly prepared in wood and charcoal grills, wood ovens and steam kettles.

You will get a taste of this during this exclusive dining event, "The Journey to Woodcut" that will take place in Evergreen, Crown's premium dining spot located in Crown Towers, with sweeping views of the Melbourne cityscape.

Evergreen's open plan kitchen is perfect for facilitating the same food preparation viewing experience that guests at Ross's Woodcut restaurant get in Sydney. You might learn a thing or two!

Ross has been featured on MasterChef on numerous occasions, as well as SBS's Food Safari programs on
South Africa and the Earth series. Has won Chef of the Year in 2016 and Hottest Chef in Australia in 2014.
