Last weekend, we decided to try out the Colmslie Beach Reserve Playground after reading Jane Street's review on WeekendNotes . We went to the playground (which was fantastic) and left with our arms full of plants.

Finding a good garden centre on the Southside has been really difficult in the past few years, so I was excited to find that close to Colmslie Beach on Lytton Road is the .

This unassuming centre has everything you need for your spring garden.

Boasting over one hundred varieties of roses, the centre also includes a wide range of cottage garden, indoor, ferns and native plants.

Staff were brilliant; Jordan patiently answered all our questions and carried heavy things to the car.

The centre encourages people to bring their canine family for a visit to meet their nursery dog George.

Children can roam amongst the plants and the staff allow patrons to use a very clean bathroom if needed.

Do your spring garden a favour and finish your playground romp at Colmslie with a visit to the centre. We went home and began our work when our three-year-old grandson planted his own small garden full of spring flowers, which he picked himself at the nursery.
