On your way to
Binna Burra through the Scenic Rim, a must-stop along the way is the one and only
Rosins Lookout Conservation Park which has incredible views of the mountainous ranges bordering the QLD & NSW borders.
Situated in the stunning countryside of Southern Queensland, it is only an hour and a half's drive south from Brisbane. An easy day trip or weekend escape, the windy roads with views of the Gold Coast Hinterland provide some beautiful "pit-stops" along the way to relax and take in the view with plenty of activities on offer also.

Rosin's Lookout
Getting to the lookout is quite simple. Take the Nerang/Southport exit (no. 69) on the Pacific Motorway, then head towards Price St/State Route 20 and soon enough you will be travelling along the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road towards Beechmont Road and the beginning of the Scenic Rim.

The drive to the lookout provides some pretty amazing views along the way
This drive is one to take at a slow pace with the gorgeous countryside and hinterland views. Yes, the point of this article is to tell you about the Rosins Lookout & picnic area - but in this case where the journey is just as pretty as the destination, take my advice and enjoy every minute of it rather than rushing it.
Now for all the activities, you can possibly enjoy, other than the fact your so close to the hiking trails of Lamington & Springbrook National Park, the site is also a popular spot for hang-gliders and para-gliders alike. Known as the 'Beechmont Launch', it is a great spot for beginners to give the sport a go & if you're more into having two feet firm on the ground - it's a pretty awe-inspiring spectacle to watch!
If you're interested in these sorts of sports on your next trip to escape the city, have a look at the
Canungra Sky Sports website.
At Rosins Lookout Conservation Park your day's activities are endless. Not only is the option of Sky Sports and hiking available but the facilities are well equipped to make sure you can spend all day in the fresh countryside air, with good company & possibly persons in flight lining the sky above you. There are also public toilets, an electric BBQ set-up, shaded seating and of course the breathtaking views to make your day in the hinterland as peaceful as possible.
