Get out in the garden and smell the roses
Rose Bay Community Garden's grand opening is set for Saturday 25 October from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.

Located at the end of Manion Avenue, in a street of apartment buildings reminiscent of West London, the garden is tucked away in a pocket of land between the golf course and playing fields.

Gardeners aim to create a beautiful garden for the local community, where people can socialise, have fun, and grow fruit and vegetables. It will also be a place to learn and share knowledge about organic gardening methods, waste reduction, water and solar harvesting and sustainable living.

Forty garden plots are available and a communal gardening area is planned. Individuals can become members for $50 and families for $80 a year (more if you want one of the 40 plots).

The garden will be opened by Woollahra Mayor Toni Zeltzer. Local legend Costa Georgiadis will make an appearance at the opening. Bake sales, seed sales, workshops, kids activities and a second hand stall, part of the Garage Sale Trail, are planned.
