Ha ha ha What a story, Mark
Tommy Wiseau, Writer, Director and Star of The Room
What a story indeed. It's been described as 'the worst movie of all time', 'the Citizen Kane of bad movies', and it's quotable quotes like the one in the subtitle for this story, have inspired scores of memes and parodies. Tommy Wiseau's cult classic The Room has become a popular cinematic event, with audiences coming along in costume, throwing plastic spoons (you'll get the joke when you see the film) and shouting at the screen throughout some of the most cringe-worthy acting performances you'll ever witness.
Brisbane audiences will soon have the opportunity to get into The Room screenings at New Globe Theatre in Fortitude Valley on October 7th, November 11th and December 2nd. It will cost you just $15 to witness plot holes bigger than Texas, a bizarre love triangle, and strange editing techniques. The Room redefines 'so bad it's good' with its terrible cinematography - the camera struggles to stay in focus - questionable script, and non-existent continuity.
There will be prizes for the best dressed, so if you've seen The Room before, dress as your favourite character for a chance to walk away with some booty. Don't worry about bringing your own plastic spoons, as they'll be provided as part of your ticket price.
