The Omega Project is a series of artwork and installations by street artist Rone , in a soon-to-be-demolished house. He's recreated elements of a classic mid-century Australian home in its fragile final hours. He draws on the memories of homes he was familiar with when he was growing up, and of the many abandoned places he used to explore.

This event is in its final days, and if you wish to catch it, it's only running till Sunday 30 July 2017 from 12pm to 5pm each day from today till then. The address you want is 28 Parkview Rd, Alphington, and I'd suggest you get there earlier than opening time, as there's bound to be a long queue, especially over the weekend. Loving all things art and especially street artists, I headed out there on Wednesday around 2pm. Luckily the weather was great, the sun was shining and warm on my back, though the wind a little cold, standing in a queue I didn't expect to find. Silly me, of course, there's a queue with 92.6 K of followers on Instagram! Obviously, I wasn't - thinking that is! An hour and a bit or so later, I had moved up from a third of the way down the street to the front door. Now that's progress. I guess all in all it wasn't that bad?

Well, if you're going to take the time and trouble to see the amazing work of this world renown artist, to bask up-close-and-personal with many of his art on the walls of a decaying, abandoned home, you make sure you have the time. It's a rare opportunity to view this beauty in decay. I certainly felt elated when I walked out that door, so I suggest you treat yourself to some art to soothe the beast. Take a few friends to keep you company in the queue. There's a house full of large portraits to fill the soul of art lovers, and it's free!
