Make the most of Melbourne's warm summer evenings by paying a visit to
Shakespeare Under The Stars at the
botanic gardens melbourne&oe=UTF-8&hq=royal botanic gardens&hnear=Melbourne Victoria&t=m&z=15 Royal Botanic Gardens. This beautiful adaptation has been brought to life under the directorship of the pioneer of outdoor theatre in Australia, Glenn Elston, from the
Australian Shakespeare Company .
This version of Romeo and Juliet features an all-Australian cast who combine to create a compelling ensemble. The Royal Botanic Gardens are a perfect backdrop to enjoy this production on a balmy night under the stars.
The performance takes place on the Southern Cross Lawn, so the best place to enter the Gardens is on Birdwood Avenue via the Observatory Gate. Up until 2 February, performances will kick off at 8.30pm. From 5 February until 3 March, it will start at the earlier time of 8pm. Ticket prices vary so it's best to check out the
