Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat
I got married at this beautiful retreat in a setting unlike any other. Staff lit pole candles beside a 400 year old Blue Quandong Fig, and scattered rose petals on the rainforest floor, while the crystal clear creek gushed in the background. Only very small weddings can be catered for as it is a very private retreat with self-contained cottages dotted throughout the beautiful rainforest.



With differing levels of accommodation, Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat aims to find the perfect getaway for everyone. Their luxury mountain-view lodges are created just for two with your own private solar heated plunge pool on the front deck complete with gorgeous mountain views. Containing a double marble bath, double sided fireplace, French oak floors and floor to ceiling windows, the mountain-view lodge option is fully self-contained and totally private.

I had the pleasure of staying in a Glass Terrace Bungalow called Satinash. I chose it for the 'to-die-for' views of the mountains and rainforest from the balcony, bedroom, and oh, just everywhere. With a huge spa bath, lovely fireplace, outdoor rainforest shower, and glass all round, it was difficult to leave. Crystal Creek aimed to bring the outside in with the Glass Terraces, and have certainly achieved that.

Guests have the option of ordering a package with scrumptious breakfast, lunch and hot dinner hampers all provided.

Warning: looking at their website and seeing the comfy hammocks strung up to trees above the rushing creek in the forest may cause hyperventilation for those who want a relaxation experience like no other.

Secrets on the Lake
Ten luxury unique treehouses designed for the ultimate first class escape are scattered around a beautiful lake. Every self-contained cottage has been individually named and each holds its own special charms. Many of the treehouses include special features like hanging fireplaces and floating log fires. Each has its own type of spa, some sunken into polished wood decking, and all with stunning views of the forest and lake.



With polished floorboards, crafted iron, and stained glass windows, there is nowhere else quite like this heavenly self contained accommodation. Beautiful modern designs and appliances are complemented by rainforest carvings or sculptures of forest animals. Some of the cottages even include double swings on the balcony and custom made love seats. Divine.

With individual accommodation names like Secrets, Waterlillies and Dragonfly, Secrets on the Lake makes sure you know you are in for something quite extraordinary.

For those who don't want a romantic breakfast in bed, the Secrets Café and Deck overlooks a beautiful lake and serves a delicious and very special array of breakfasts, lunches and morning and afternoon teas.

The Mouses House Rainforest Retreat
Mouses House have a range of different accommodation types, all self-contained cottages, but the luxury rainforest spa and stream chalets are the best. Boasting a private outdoor hot tub next to a clear rocky stream and rainforest outlook, these chalets are designed for luxury romantic weekends away. Of course those who love variety will appreciate the indoor massaging spa bath in addition to the outdoor hot tub.



Coffee lovers have their own coffee machine, and entertainment is via a 42 inch high definition TV, stereo system and iPod/iPhone dock. If you thought you and your loved one would be totally alone though, just remember unexpected visitors such as possums, may suddenly appear like magic when you cook on the webber BBQ undercover on the patio.

The five luxury rainforest spa and stream cottages are called Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Wicked Witch and Prince Charming. All are different and have individual special features in addition to the ones already mentioned.
