Top Sydney designers create interactive whimsical exhibit
Sydney-based fashion house Romance Was Born has been commissioned to develop an over-the-top fantasy creation over three large gallery spaces to fill the NGV's new children's gallery this coming October.
Designers Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett, known for their flamboyant, colourful, often eccentric style, will fill the children's arena with fantastical environments filled with a kaleidoscope of colour for participation, play and creativity.

The Romance Was Born design duo met whilst studying fashion design and launched their label in 2005. Each collection features bold, 'otherworldly' prints, often psychedelic in nature. The pair take inspiration from other artists, working collaboratively to engage visitors to their energetic, theatrical runway shows that take place each season. Previous collections have included collaborations with artists such as Del Kathryn Barton, Stephen Bush, Nell and Kate Rohde.

This will be the first time the Romance Was Born team will present an exhibition specifically designed for children. There will be a blend of fashion, art, music and design to engage visitors of all ages, where children in particular will have the opportunity to create in a colourful art space dedicated solely for them.
