Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 10:00am to 3:00pm, will see the biggest ever Roleystone Market in the picturesque little village of Roleystone, located high in the Perth Hills. Stroll among 133 carefully positioned hand-picked stalls, while being entertained by wandering buskers.

And there is more

The unavoidable cancellation of the Winter Market left the Roleystone Market Committee with a challenge to accommodate those stall holders who missed out and still manage the expectations of their new keen stall holders, who had booked for the Spring Market. The result is a one-off Mega Spring Market of 133 stalls (the next market will be back to their normal size of around 100 stalls). Therefore, if you only come to one market this year, why not make it the Roleystone Mega Spring Market 2018.

Stalls are hand-picked to ensure they provide variety (no more than three stalls selling the same primary product), quality (always) and where possible handmade and artisan (no generic imports) products. This attention to detail and the picky attitude of their Stall Coordinators ensure Roleystone Markets stand out from the rest and maintain their reputation for being a 'Destination Market' with a genuine difference. Moreover, it's right on your doorstep.

Just far away enough to be close enough

Turn onto the Brookton Highway, off Albany Highway Kelmscott, and you pass through one of the nicest valleys in the Perth Hills to the Roleystone Markets , situated in Cross Park. Turn off at Holden road and follow the signs to the market location situated along Jarrah Road between Wygonda and Heather Road, just 30 kilometres south-east of Perth.

Roleystone Markets take advantage of their excellent position at Cross Park, situated on a huge oval, with space for the kids to play ball, or run themselves ragged. Surrounded by Shady trees the large grassed area provides a spacious and protective bushland setting to enjoy the day.

Be entertained by the Bendigo Buskers as you wander around the stalls and enjoy lunch

Buskers (due to great reviews) will again entertain with talented musicians located around the stalls, including the Market's own beautiful songstress, Victoria Corcoran. The Heritage Choir, belly dancing from Petra White's troupe, together with the all singing and dancing Junior Glee Group will keep the Market pumping. Quinn White, Neeter Downz and Dave Scott, the winner of Kelmscott Idol, and other local talent, will augment a mega day of music. The Bendigo Community Bank is sponsoring the buskers, who will now be known as the 'Bendigo Buskers'. However, please don't let that stop you showing your appreciation for the fabulous entertainment.

Awesome food and drink

Among the numerous food vendors are some fabulous new food vans, including 'The Dirty Swine', 'Street Food Lab' and 'Nacho Evolution'. Awesome names to match the awesome food. It's worth the trip to the Market just to check out the mega variety of foodies on show.

Hand-picked, unique, quirky, variety and quality

The reputation of the Roleystone Markets is spreading, with stall holders keen to display their wares (some fabulous new stalls), and as always, each one has been hand-picked to ensure variety, quality and the uniqueness or sometimes quirkiness that the Market is becoming known for.

With the focus on locally sourced (with most locally made) products, often with the artist on hand, and a handmade/no imports philosophy, Roleystone Markets attract many unique vendors. Kiddlies (children's toys and accessories), Jean Revival (cushions, scarves and bags, handmade by Gail), Skye's Designs (Mandala designed soy wax candles, Mandala and Zentangle tea and coffee sets, reusable coffee mugs, salad servers, mini storage boxes, canvas art, porcelain platters, coasters), are a great example of the offerings available. I find that half the fun is strolling among the stalls and discovering that unique item.

Including free traditional fun and games for kids

Kids are especially embraced, and when not engaging in the activities, they have a large oval to run themselves ragged, while you browse around the stalls or watch them, while having a tasty snack or lunch from one of the food vendors.

Cross Park boasts an excellent skate park for kids (big and small), playground and public amenities. Enjoy Bouncy castles, the 'uber 'cute baby animals from Old McDonalds Animal Farm, face painting, camel rides and much more.

This Market will introduce some FREE traditional games for kids of all ages to test their skill while having fun. Look out for the Twister, Noughts and Crosses, Hopscotch and many more. Sit and enjoy good food and play with the kids (no cords and no Wi-Fi required).

The Shedders

Roleystone Men's Community Shed will be there as always with their unique twists on repurposing anything they can get their hands on, and who hasn't seen what they can do with an old gas bottle. These friendly blokes, are always keen for a chat, and to discuss the benefits of the Men's Shed concept in general, and the Roleystone Men's Shed in particular. Moreover, all the funds raised go towards the building of their new Men's Shed. New members are welcome.

The Gardeners

Roleystone Community Garden will not have their normal stall in the Market but instead invite visitors to walk the few steps and check out the progress of the new Community Garden. There will be demonstration beds, plants to purchase, including the best strawberries you have ever tasted. Moreover, chat to the gardeners and share their vision of the future of a true gardening hub in the centre of the Village. Please say hello and check out this fabulous amenity.

A community market

Formed as a sub-committee of the Roleystone Community Garden and with sponsorship and support of the local Community Bank – Bendigo Bank, the Roleystone Markets Committee coordinate quarterly markets that are a fixture in the Perth market scene and now a 'can't-miss destination', for not only the local community but the Perth community. Come and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

A variety of Not for Profit groups providing activities ensure Roleystone Mega Spring Market 2018 is a great family day out.

Regular updates

Roleystone Markets website is the place to check for all the general news. The latest information (and to see if your favourite vendor has posted), Roleystone Markets Facebook page and Instagram are your ports of call.

Important parking information

To ensure a hassle-free day and easy parking for everyone there will be a road closure around the Market to facilitate additional car parking and hopefully take the pressure off the local streets. Traffic management will be in place with plenty of signage around the area, but half of Jarrah Road from the Wygonda/Jarrah roundabout up to the Senior Citizen Centre will be closed off to parking.
