On Sunday, December 11, Roleystone Twilight Christmas Market once again sponsors two regular favourites for the children, as a BIG THANK YOU to the community for its support over the last four years. No doubt due to maintaining its original concept of a market by the community for the community. Old McDonalds Farm and face painting are FREE for all the young and not so young visitors.

The local Bendigo Community Bank proudly sponsors a new children's activity, Sand Art Cards. Call into the Bendigo Bank tent and let your children have fun, get creative with sand and enjoy making a great card to take home.

As you wander among the stalls, with that little extra cash scoring some great Christmas presents, the children enjoy many free activities.

With over one hundred and twenty hand-picked stalls, finding unique gifts for Christmas will be a pleasure. Many new stallholders (along with some old favourites), plenty of food outlets, free activities, rides and a concert make it a market for everyone. As usual a special guest will drop by around 5.00pm to say 'ho ho ho'. Hint: Look for the man in the red suit.

A great drive to start a great day

Turning onto the Brookton Highway, off Albany Highway Kelmscott, takes you through rolling hills to the Roleystone Markets, situated in Cross Park. Turn off at Holden road and follow the signs to the market location situated along Jarrah Road between Wygonda and Heather Road, just 30 kilometres south-east of Perth.

Activities galore

A regular at the markets, Old McDonalds Farm, is always a great hit with the kids. Who can resist having a free cuddle with the cute farmyard animals?

Arty Brellas provides a fantastic opportunity for some creative fun, and you get to take away an umbrella. Add the usual fare of bouncy castles, Camel Train, plus Bungee Run, a new fun ride for the older children, and other activities complete the fun. What better ways to keep the children occupied while you browse the stalls and enjoy the entertainment.

Take your pick

Handpicked carefully positioned stalls offer a great range of excellent quality home grown and handmade products. Roleystone Markets keep up the variety by only allowing a few of the same types of vendors to trade on the day. The focus is on handmade, handcrafted arts, crafts and produce. Gift something handcrafted locally rather than mass-produced overseas. Food vendors and Not for Profit groups providing activities ensure Roleystone Christmas Market is a great family day out.

Free gift-wrapping and pay it forward

Support a local lady who volunteers every year to collect donations for the local Women and Children's Refuge in Gosnells. Pay it forward, bring a gift and receive it wrapped free.

She will be a collection point for donations (non-consumables) and offer free gift-wrapping for those gifts to the Refuge.

For a gold coin donation she will gift-wrap any other gifts with all the funds raised going to the Refuge.

Taste the world on a plate

Of the 120 amazing stalls, with many new ones complimenting the regulars; the real standout being the huge variety of food vendors, an opportunity to taste the world right here in Roleystone. Below is just a taste of the selection available

Anton's Bratwurst, Bona Pizza Mobile Woodfired Pizza (always a favourite), Georges Shishkobab offering traditional Greek Souvlaki, Grilled to the Mac, Hawaiian Shaved Ice, Josie's Baked Potatoes, traditional Spanish Paella from Kamal's Quarter Catering, Meast Middle Eastern Street Food are back with their fabulous falafel, Arabic rice and chicken wraps.

On The Frog and Toad, Scone Crazy, Ubuntu Real Food Co., Zab Salad & Thai's Supermarket adds to the eclectic mix of food. The Turkish Saj return with extremely tasty gozlemas, and new to the market is the Rare Flower, promising the flavours of Hungary melted into recipes of international cuisine. Add WA Spit Roast, Scone Crazy, Zab Salad & Thai's Supermarket and you truly can taste the world at the Roleystone Christmas Market.

What would summer be without the Yeahman the Icecream van and the Lolly Bus for the children's Christmas sweet treats, plus bagels from Sweet Dream Foods, and great coffee from Mr Cuppa?
