There are so many different places to go go eat in Dickson, I swear I could go go there for dinner every night for a fortnight and still not have tried all of the restaurants there. Although, one restaurant that I would like to return to again is Rogane Chimac - a Korean restaurant. Recently we went there because I had a craving for fried chicken, and when it comes to fried chicken I think the Koreans make it the best. There are a number of Korean restaurants in Dickson but something about this one caught my eye and we decided to eat there. The restaurant was on the small side but there were already a few tables taken by groups of people. Because it was early, seeing a few tables taken was a very good sign indeed.
The menu was full of delicious items including a vegetable and kimchi shallot pancake, bulgogi soup, and beef bibimbap. But it was the fried chicken that we came for, so we decided to get that. There were a number of different types of fried chicken including original chicken, sweet and spicy chicken, sweet soy chicken, chilli chicken (which comes in 5 levels) and snow chicken. As I'm a fan of cheese and not chilli we both decided that snow chicken with a side of chilli sauce would be the best bet.
We ordered the full chicken as we were sharing and we were surprised by how much chicken actually came out. The chicken was perfectly crunchy and not too oily at all, yet still juicy and tender on the inside. The snow that covered the chicken was cheesy and salty, kind of like the powder you find in mac & cheese, and it was delicious. We both agreed that we really enjoyed the chicken that we had that night, and my partner loved the chilli sauce he dipped the chicken in.
With a belly full of fried chicken and some still left over for lunch the next day, we left Rogane Chimac very happy and vowing to come back again.
