Embrace That Inner Rocker & Pinup
If you are looking for a free family event that can transform you back to a time of hot rods and burlesque, then the Rods and Rockabilly Miami event is perfect for you.
On Saturday 20 February, this free event supports local businesses, bands and car clubs and is open to fans of the music and scene, families and mates and anyone wanting to have a great day out with a difference. Plus you get the stunning Miami Beach right on the doorstep which is a pretty cool setting for a pretty cool event.
The fun kicks off at 12pm and you will be treated to a host of live entertainment including some of the best Aussie Rockabilly bands, dancers plus a classic car show including awesome Hotrods and Ratrods.
There will also be an eclectic market with loads of gifts, nostalgia items and food stalls plus a lowbrow art show. It's sure to be an electric and exciting atmosphere.
One of the highlights of the day will be a fabulous Pinup Pageant - girls inspired by the 50's offering up some rock and roll glamour.
Miami Tavern is one of the Gold Coast's original live entertainment venues, home to the famous shark bar and serving excellent bistro-style food. It is located off the Gold Coast Highway - take Kelly Avenue and it is on the corner on The Esplanade.
I am really looking forward to this event - I know that the Rods and Rockabilly events they have in Brisbane are always really popular and I am sure this will be just as good and loads of fun - plus I think everyone loves a chance to unleash our inner pinup and rocker.
