Adelaide Festival Centre presents
'Richard O'Brien's Rocky Horror Show' at The Adelaide Festival Theatre from 28th December until 13th January. The New Year's Eve show on December 31st was a non-stop party. filled with creatively dressed guests, photo opportunities and fun loving songs.
Guests were dressed to kill in their most outrageous outfits, featuring lots of Magentas, Columbias, Rockys, Riff Raffs and of course Frank N Furters.
Rocky Horror is an experience, an institution and a whole lot of fun. Leave your expectations at the door because this production will blow the roof of what you are prepared for. Bring your dancing shoes because you are not going home without getting up to do the 'Timewarp' alongside the cast.
Featuring all favourite tracks from the movie including 'Science Fiction/Double Feature', 'Dammit Janet', 'Time Warp', 'Sweet Transvestite', 'Hot Patootie', 'Toucha Toucha Toucha Touch Me' and more. Starring an all-star cast of incredibly talented professionals including Craig McLachlan as Frank N Furter, Michelle Smitheram as Janet Weiss, Rob Mallett as Brad Majors, Kristian Lavercombe as Riff Raff, Amanda Harrison as Magenta/Usherette, Brendan Irving as Rocky, Nadia Komazec as Columbia, Adam Rennie as Eddie/Dr Scott, and narrated by Cameron Daddo.
This cult classic is the story of loved-up couple Brad (Rob Mallett) and Janet (Michelle Smitheram) who are leaving a friends wedding and on the way home, they get a flat tire. They think its a blessing when they discover a mansion in the middle of nowhere, but little do they know it's the home of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Craig McLachlan), a transvestite scientist who leaves his life a little different to most.
If you've ever seen
Rocky Horror live or even at a cinema, you would expect the audience participation.
Brad and Janet are saving themselves for marriage, but as the show progresses, so does their sexual awaking. They meet some kooky characters, learn some crazy dances and sing at the top of their lungs. Dr Frank N Furter (Craig McLachlan) shows them how to be a little bit naughty but all in good fun.
It is hard to recreate such an iconic production, but this show exceeds all expectations. 5/5 Stars incredible costumes, highly talented cast, witty commentary, sexy dance moves, pure entertainment at its best, but don't just take my word for it, go experience it for yourself.
Rocky Horror playing a The Festival Theatre until January 13th.
