I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

See seafood and eat it too
Head to Rocksalt for fresh seafood in a waterfront setting. The restaurant is located on the marina adjacent to the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club and you can sit outside under large umbrellas or in the airy open restaurant.

The menu has an emphasis on seafood but there are meat and vegetarian options available. The scallop entree is delicious as is the chopped prawn and preserved lemon bruschetta.

Seafood entrees
Barramundi with pear, rocket and asparagus salad was the fish of the day. The crispy fried sole with chili, ginger and coriander was a taste sensation that was well complemented by a ginger chili mojito.

Rocksalt is a nice place for a special lunch if you are a seafood lover, the service is friendly and the setting is great for people watching. The prices are on the expensive side making it more for special occasion dining and the markup on the drink prices is also very high.
