There are many of us who look at those who can paint and draw in awe. Even Leonardo wasn't born an artistic genius, his work was due to good old fashioned hard work and positive feedback. The rest is procrastination and that's where belonging to an art group can help with motivation and inspiration.

The run five different art groups at the Gary Holland Centre, in the upstairs studio at 19 Kent St Rockingham. The five different groups are Life Drawing, Acrylics, Art (no toxic mediums), Pastels and Water Colour.

Some of the member benefits include:
Free access to the RRA library
Eligibilty to participate in art exhibitions
Discounts at Jackson Drawing Supplies Pty (10%), Oxlades (15%) and Hu Kendall &Co(10%)
Materials at cost prices through the group
Most importantly you'll get the positive feedback, inspiration and friendship provided by a group of like minded people. Also, there's free morning and afternoon tea. Members do not have to have any past experience, all are welcome.
Life Drawing, Tuesday morning, 9.30 - 11.30 am
Landscape, Seascape and Portraiture Tuesday afternoon from 1 pm - 4 pm.
Art on Wednesday, (All non-toxic mediums), Wednesday morning 9.30 am - 12.30 pm
Wednesday evening Pastels 6 pm - 9 pm (paper available at cost)
Water Colour Society, Friday, morning group 9 am - 12.00 noon; afternoon group, 12.00 - 3.30 Each group provides free morning/afternoon teas.

The RRA can be contacted on [email protected] or the City of Rockingham's website .

Remember with hard work and practice much can be achieved. Some of us just need more practice than others.
