There's more than just pigeons on this rooftop. Rocket is the place to be on Sunday nights this summer. Offering free movies and popcorn, Rocket's open air entertainment space transforms into a laid back lounge complete with amazing Vietnamese street food from Sit Lo and cold bevvies served up from the bar all night long.



Decked out in Corona bean bags and crates, we recommend getting in early to get a good spot (and seat) for the film, as the place does fill quickly. There are also booths and stools available for those wanting to eat and drink comfortably. Palms and brightly coloured decor abound; you'll feel like you're by a beach rather than in the CBD.



Doors open every Sunday at 6pm but the movie doesn't start until sundown, so you have time to claim your spot, get settled and have a feed before people start telling you to shush.

While you do get free popcorn, if you are after something a little more filling then Sit Lo will be putting on their amazing steam bao buns including their panko chicken, soft shell crab and vegetarian tofu options. Lotus chips and small bites are also available. Their take away style food enables you to eat anywhere without worrying about cutlery. It's reasonably priced too. If you're after some cheap drink deals with a few friends, Rocket Bar has some amazing deals for the evening. Sangria 750ml bottles are available for only $20, as well as $6 Coronas and $5 Alpha Box & Dice wines. Fancy margaritas are also on offer for only $10 until the movie starts (or just stock up on them at your table beforehand).



We love the choice of films and themes from these guys, which aren't your usual Hollywood blockbusters. It's nice to check out something a little bit different alongside good friends, good food and affordable drinks high up amongst the stars. Stop looking at the jousting sticks, and head up to Rocket Rooftop for a chilled night of classic film.
