Are you a little confused about the musical genre, Rockabilly?

Well, Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of rock and roll music, dating back to the early 1950's, and prominent around the deep south of America. Early proponents of this style include Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash. It is considered to be the kind of music that both grandparents and grandchildren can enjoy, and makes great dance music.

Several Rockabilly bands are scheduled to perform on the day .

10.30am. The ERT Trio
11.35am. Lovejoy Surf
12.40pm. Twang
2.15pm. Shotdown From Sugartown
3.35pm. The Bellfuries.

Yes, there will be a dance floor so that you can do your thing to the live music.

Yes, you are encouraged to dig deep into the wardrobe for that Retro outfit- particularly with a full swing skirt- and at 1.35pm on Stage there will even be a Pinups on Parade so that we can all admire the fashions of yesteryear.

Now what would complement the music and fashions of this era?

A hot rod display of course! On view within the Showgrounds will be a display of Pre 1970 American and Australian vehicles, vintage motorbikes, hot rods and muscle cars.

There will also be vintage and retro market stalls, an abundance of rides for the kiddies , as well as a gourmet food village which includes seating.

There's also a display of artwork covering tiki carving, painting, sculpture, and photography.

As an added bonus all patrons to the Rockabilly Revival festival will be welcome to visit the adjacent Redland Museum FREE of charge. With over18,000 objects available for display there is something to interest everyone - especially younger family members.
