Cars and music have long been a popular combination, even well before The Cars released their successful first album in 1978.

To celebrate this close connection the National Motor Museum is holding the .

This fun day combines rock & roll music, classic cars, retro fashions, dancing and children's activities to create a day that will appeal to all the family.

Owners of classic cars (pre 1978), muscle cars and classic street rods can enter their cars to display, and the day starts at 7.30 am with breakfast at the Torrens Parade Ground. The Breakfast Cruise will then depart for Birdwood and meander about Adelaide at 9 am.

Visitors are encouraged to join in the retro theme by dressing like their favourite rock stars in vintage and retro clothes from the 50's to the 70's, and prizes will be awarded for the best outfit.

At the museum Vicky O'Keefe will lead the show with a tribute to her legendary father Johnny O'Keefe. It's the first time she has performed in South Australia and Vicky will be supported by bands The Speedsters, Blue Comets and Pulse Band & the Lincolns.

Kids entry is free (under 15) and they will be well catered for with face painting, airbrush tattoos, a jumping castle and clowns.

There's going to be a huge dance floor with everyone encouraged to join in and take part, and a special dance competition for dancers of all abilities - join in and you may win a prize.

The ticket cost includes free entry to the Museum, and if there are a group of you going then purchasing 10 tickets in advance will get you an extra discount.
