Life is never boring with 3 males in the house and a dog. We have fun and we have a laugh, after all, that's what life is all about.Visit my blog at angelaslot.blogspot.com

Challenge, climb and conquer
This is a great activity for all ages. It provides a great cardiovascular work out for the body, builds co-ordination, confidence and strength. Most importantly, it is fun and exhilarating.

I took my son and his friend along for an afternoon of indoor rock climbing at Paramount Adventure Centre. We arrived and were given our climbing harnesses to put on. Our climbing instructor gave us a demonstration on safety and how to use the ropes correctly, belay and how to climb. Safety is a big priority and we practiced connecting ropes, climbing and belaying until our instructor felt we were ready to step out into the world of climbing. Not being a very co-ordinated person with two left hands at times, it took me a while but I soon mastered it and we passed our induction with flying colours.

At Paramount Adventure Centre there is over 850 sqm of wall space to climb and over 11 metres of vertical height. Walls to cater for all from the beginner climber to the advanced with different gradients and slopes and for the not so faint hearted, overhangs and I must admit "WOW", it is a fantastic feeling to reach the top.

Winter is a great time to go as it does get the blood pumping. It is fun and challenging.

Staff are friendly and are there to help if you need a helping hand. Loose clothing is a must and bring comfortable closed in shoes for climbing and an ice cold bottle of water will not go amiss. Climbing courses are available there as well as climb fit exercise classes. It is also a great spot for birthday parties and will ensure the young ones will sleep well at night.

Paramount Adventure Centre run outdoor climbing/abseiling sessions, learn to surf, kayaking and stand up paddling classes as well, so there is something there for everyone from the adrenalin junkie to those just wanting to have fun and try something new.

Onwards and upwards, let the climbing begin.
