The very first Hebocon competition is being held in Australia as part of Scienceworks Robotica festival starting in November and the opening celebration is going to be huge. This event kicks off on Sunday 12th November at 11am and the high-tech wizardry is sure to be amazing.
Those of us outside the industry really have no idea how advanced robotics has become. It was only during an open day at Monash University recently that we saw some of the robotic designs and applications the students are working on and were blown away. I expect the Sciencework's Robotica Festival will be a similar experience featuring state-of-the-art technology alongside some quirky and very cool designs.
Take a robo gallery tour and meet some experts in the field who will explain to you how robots sense and think. Find out what jobs robots already do and which roles they are likely to fill in future. There will be interactive challenges and even a dance-off in the droid disco so be sure and practise your moves.
On Sunday 12th November – the Robotica 2017 launch – there will be demonstrations and stalls, workshops, games and talks by industry experts which are sure to educate and inspire kids who might be interested in becoming robotic specialists themselves.
Cosplay is welcome and there'll be a dress-up competition running alongside the other events. Prizes will be awarded to those demonstrating the best fusion of future fashion and tech.
