On Saturday 13/08/2016 from 10am until 3.30pm,
Roboroos are hosting an open day which coincides with and relates to
2016 National Science Week's theme of
Drones, Droids and Robots.
is a free event which will showcase the team's competition robots, whilst offering hands-on activities.
Children of all ages are welcome to visit and watch RoboRoos team of robots in action and have a go at earning their robot driving licence by mastering the RoboRoos ball throwing robot.
Children aged 10yo and over will be able to participate in (under the guidance of industry mentors) free electronics training sessions, learn to solder circuits and build a flashing RoboRoos badge to take home.
RoboRoos are the only community based South Australian robotics club - team members compete interstate and internationally as part of the US based FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC).
Membership is open to students from varying backgrounds, from Year 8 and up, who have a passion for robotics and learning. As a RoboRoos member, students will have the opportunity to learn CAD, design, electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, software, marketing and media skills. To ensure the success and continuity of its teams, RoboRoos has a strong foundation of sponsors (including BAE Systems, The City of Unley and University of South Australia).
