Classic Films Light up Lumen Room Each Month
The first rule of sword club is you don't talk about sword club...because you're in a silent film.
Have you ever wanted to travel back in time? Well now you can, cinema style! The Lumen Room is opening its doors again this year for Roaring Twenties Cinema. The first event is kicking off this Friday the 20th of January.
Roaring Twenties Cinema takes audiences back to the times of silent era, black and white film. Sometimes films were colourised - a process that involved hand-painting individual frames of a movie shot in black and white. Just like the silent movie screenings of the old days, there is a musician who plays a stirring soundtrack along with the shows. Any dialogue appears as words on screen. Otherwise the stories are told with silent actors' amazing facial expressions.
Each evening of Roaring Twenties Cinema delights audiences with a two-hour long program that usually consists of a short film or two followed by a feature.
These poor punters missed out on buying tickets. So silently sad.
