Roald Dahl Day at MWF – Free
In conjunction with the Melbourne Writers Festival, families are invited to a very special day of storytelling, workshops, fun free events and more in celebration of what would have been Roald Dahl's 100th birthday.
"A little nonsense now and then,is cherished by the wisest men".Roald DahlRoald Dahl was a British novelist, short story writer, poet and screenwriter born in 1916. He is most famous for his children's novels James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Fantastic Mr Fox, The BFG, The Witches and Matilda among many, many more.
Roald Dahl Day is being held at Federation Square and the day begins at 10.30am with Roald Dahl Story Time, followed at 11.30am by a screening of Matilda and Me. Learn How to Draw the BFG at 12noon, then play a game of Roald Dahl Trivia at 12.30pm.
While you are there, don't miss the Cover to Cover: Roald Dahl Around the World exhibition, and if you register your attendance on the
Melbourne Writers Festival website you will receive a free activity pack and pencil.
There will be plenty of free, family friendly activities throughout the day, with face painting, workshops and more.
Roald Dahl Dat at MWF is being held on Sunday 4th September 2016 from 10am to 5pm at Federation Square.
