When you want to escape, head by the bay to unwind
Being a newbie to Brisbane, I have tried to get out and about nearly every weekend to see a new side of the city. So I took a solo road trip up the north coast a few weeks ago to see what the Redcliffe fuss was all about. And what a beautiful part of the Brisbane area it is.
I started in Scarborough and was a little surprised by what I saw - Newport Marina and houses dotted along the canals that wind in and out of the suburb. What a nice place to live.
Then I began my drive along the coast - stopping at Redcliffe to soak up the sun; driving through Margate and then pulling up at Woody Point for lunch at the jetty. This was my favourite spot and if I had had more time I would have loved to go for a walk all along the coast. You are spoilt for choice for lunch options too in each place: fish and chip shops, cafes, pubs, delis and restaurants galore.
