Everything happens for a Riesling
A wise person once told me that everything happens for a Riesling. So where better to go to celebrate the end of a workweek or talk about your troubles, then Rizla, Canberra's first bar/restaurant dedicated to Rieslings.
I'm going to keep this one short. Yes. It is as amazing as it sounds, and features an extensive list of local, national and international rieslings available to purchase by the glass or bottle.
The staff are incredibly friendly and are more than happy to recommend you a try a certain drop. I spent an afternoon sitting in the lovely garden are recently, and was pleasantly surprised at how private it felt, considering its location on a corner on busy Lonsdale St. I'm seriously wondering whether I should be booking my work Christmas Party there now.
Wines start from $13 a glass. Other varieties are available, not to mention a solid selection of beers, ciders and cocktails. The snacks on offer also look divine.
Rizla is set to become one of my new regulars, and I'm looking forward to getting through the different rieslings on offer. It's a tough job but somebody has to do it!
