When Perth residents talk about the Swan River they often mean the stretch from Perth down to Fremantle. Dotted with yachts and ferries this wide stretch of water is indeed a beautiful sight, but just a short distance away the upper reaches of the Swan offer a whole different view. The annual Riverside Ramble offers a chance to explore this peaceful country setting and enjoy a huge variety of entertainment.as well.

Sponsored by the Stratton Lions Club and the City of Swan, this day really does have something for everyone. The Swan Regional Riverside Park will become a wonderland full of exciting and unusual activities to discover at every turn.

Children can enjoy face painting and free rides. There's a circus show and a medieval fair along with market stalls and community information booths.

There will also be fishing and canoeing and for something different, why not try prospecting? Even your canine companions are catered for with a doggie breakfast and free vet checks.

Free parking will be available near the Reg Bond Reserve, but if the weather is fine, why not walk or cycle along the very pleasant John George Walk Trail ? Leave the stress and strain of city life behind and just...ramble.
