Enjoy a relaxing cruise along the Murray River

At the weekend, my partner and I took a trip to River Gum Cruises, based in Waikerie and met James and Sandra who are exceptional hosts, offering a range of different cruises along the majestic limestone cliffs and glorious native gum and mallee trees lined along the gorgeous River Murray. Ranked as the TripAdvisor Number 1 things to do in Waikerie, it certainly lives up to the great reviews and was an afternoon to remember.

James and Sandra truly appreciate the river lifestyle and have raised their family in the Riverland, making the most of what it has to offer. Their boat, 'Qatar', is their pride and joy with years of hard work to make her into the luxurious 35-foot river cruiser that she is today.
Surveyed to carry 12 persons, the cruises on offer are intimate and make for a memorable journey as they share their love for the river.

There are 9 different types of cruises available, allowing you to chose the cruise that interests you the most and how long you wish to enjoy the river for. There are also cruises joined with local wine tasting and meals or a visit to the Historic Overland Corner Hotel and museum.

We did the Yarra Cliffs Cruise which was a great insight into the Mighty River Murray and each cruise offers complimentary tea and coffee, along with a delicious local platter on board (the dried fruit was amazing) whilst you relax and take in the scenery. Local wines, beers and a range of other drinks are available to purchase from the licensed bar.
