A neighbourhood park with the works
Riverdale Park (Armstrong Road, Meadowbrook) is extremely popular with local families. It features a wide variety of playground and exercise equipment, multiple gazebos and picnic areas, walkways and off-leash dog areas.
Central to the parkland is an impressive lagoon with wooden bridge. This provides a stunning backdrop for photographs and opportunities for children to observe the resident ducks and turtles. Riverdale Park also backs onto the Logan River, and can be accessed via a large pontoon.
Upon arrival, visitors will notice an extremely large gazebo which is ideal for weddings, christenings and parties. Unfortunately, this cannot be reserved - early arrival is recommended for groups wishing to utilise the structure.
There are two playground areas. The first has been constructed in the form of a ship, complete with deck and emergency rescue boat. Nearby, there are swings, slides and an aluminium track with pedal bikes.
The second playground is located toward the rear of the parkland and consists of a large netted climbing frame, swings, slides and a round-about structure.
Families seeking physical activity will appreciate wide open spaces for playing games. A lengthy walking track with exercise machines also winds throughout the parkland. This is constructed of concrete and is sufficiently wide to accommodate prams or wheelchairs.
Open, grassy areas
Finally, there are two off-leash dog areas - one is recommended for smaller dogs only and the other contains agility equipment for all breeds.
Ample parking has been provided, along with two toilet blocks with handicapped facilities.
