With a 184km long river flowing through the Scenic Rim, Logan, and the Gold Coast, it's no wonder that Logan City has some extremely beautiful parks by the river. Riverdale Park, boasting an impressive 10 hectares with a wide range of facilities catering for all age groups and abilities, is no exception.
Seemingly endless areas of open, grassy areas. Perfect for a picnic or a game of sport.
Below are some photos of the facilities available at Riverdale Park. The photos below do not encompass every single facility available, but it should give you a good idea about what the park has to offer!
Plenty of gazebos in the park, making for a nice, relaxing place to escape the sun and heat. There is also a floating gazebo, which is perfect for wedding shoots.
Riverdale Park used to be part of the Armstrong family's 100 year old grazing property. You can still see horses and other farm animals if you walk over the back of this bridge, towards the back of the park.
One last interesting fact is that Riverdale Park is the first park in Logan City to have a parkour circuit. For those of you who don't know what this is, parkour circuits provide alternative ways of keeping fit and healthy, and can also prove to be beneficial in terms of rehabilitation.
Today was a great day - we will definitely be returning sometime. Everyone we met was really friendly, which made for a great atmosphere in the park. It was also great to be able to be able to have a lengthy walk around the 10 hectare park - I guess that's our exercise done for the week!
