With the picturesque Murray River on its doorstep, Riverbend Caravan Park is the place to sit back and relax right on the river's bend. It offers cabins and sites with absolute riverfront views and that's not an exaggeration. Our fully self-contained two-bedroom cabin was literally just a few metres from the banks of the mighty Murray with its shaded outdoor area providing plenty of opportunity for us to enjoy the serenity and beautiful surroundings.
Having stayed there for three nights, we were extremely pleased with the accommodation. Bedroom one has a double bed while bedroom two has two bunk beds. The shower and toilet are separate and the kitchenette is full of cutlery and crockery. There was a slight hiccup with our hot water though as the gas cylinders had run out of gas! However, the situation was immediately rectified after a quick phone call to the front office, and I truly commend them for that.
The well-maintained in-park facilities include a large amenity block, coin-operated laundry, communal fire pits, undercover BBQ areas and fully enclosed camp kitchen. There's also trailer parking and a boat ramp adjacent to the park. As for the kids, they would love admiring birds in the aviaries as well as spending time in the playground and on the bounce pillow. Being right on the riverbend also means that the heritage-listed Paringa Bridge is in full view of the park. Be sure to witness what happens at approximately 9:30am and 2:30pm each day when in operation.
