I recently saw The Avengers, at The Ritz and had an absolutely fantastic experience. Stepping into the building takes you back in time. With its classic allure and its 'jaw dropping' cheap prices, I was not surprised to see the number of couples and families queuing to buy their tickets. The tickets are priced very reasonably compared to other 'big chain' cinemas. 2D tickets are priced at $13 while 3D movie tickets are $15 (if you remember to bring your own 3D glasses from home, you can save $1). If you "like" The Ritz on Facebook you can even buy movie tickets for $8.
The snack bar is very reasonably priced with the smallest box of pop corn starting at $3.50 and the bigger boxes going a dollar up. The bar upstairs was also practically priced and was very busy with people enjoying a drink with friends or partners before the show.
The seats were a little bit small but were quite comfortable. With the seats being unassigned, I realised it was very lucky for us to have arrived early, as we were able to get the best seats. The cinema hall was divided into lower seating and upper seating, the lower being closed off that day. Thus the best seats were the ones in front, giving us an unobstructed view of the screen.
The whole experience was absolutely enjoyable. Even though its not a new building, everything from the toilets to the cinema hall itself was very clean and well maintained. Parking can be a little difficult, so it helps to arrive before time. Just outside the cinema are many different restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, which can give a beautiful evening a delicious end.
