The Ripple Effect
The name itself is enough to gauge its location: Ripples Sydney Wharf. This top of class a la carte dining restaurant boasts not only a stunning waterfront view but caters for all kinds of events and functions.

The restaurant itself is a short walk from Darling Harbour and is located on Pyrmont Bay. I first discovered it during a Saturday night dinner with friends and was impressed by the modern designs, excellent customer service and delicious, high quality dishes offered by Ripples.

Having gone to this restaurant during the summer - with daylight saving in effect - it was still pretty bright as we sat and ordered our meals, which meant that we were fortunate enough to be blessed by views of sunset over the harbour as we enjoyed our meals. There are no walls to this restaurant as such; the walls are clear plastic sheets which encapsulates the dining area and counter creating a cosy and relaxed atmosphere.

As for the food, I couldn't be more happier. With prices consistent with most fine dining restaurants, the food was definitely worth every dollar, There was also the option of making a starter into a main dish if you wanted a bigger serve but of course that would mean paying a bit more.

The serving size was reasonable, though I must admit that the "beer battered fish and chips" serving was enough for two people. Here are just a few of the dishes we tried:

ripples beer battered fish & chips w tartare sauce & lemon

oven roasted lamb rump w crisp chickpeas, celery, mint & radicchio

grilled barramundi w fregolone, fresh peas, broad beans & lemon

saffron fettucine w eggplant, zucchini & fennel - originally a starter dish but converted into a main

mushroom & herb risotto w asparagus & parmesan

Full menu available on the Ripples Sydney Wharf website.

All in all, the food was wonderful, atmosphere was great and view was magnificent. Believe me, you will leave this place on a high note.
