If you are visiting the Gold Coast and looking for something unusual to do and love weird facts, you must visit the Ripley's Believe it or Not! Odditorium, located in Surfers Paradise in the popular Cavill Mall.
This place is great for the whole family and even for the children, although I do recommend if you have children who can't read yet it might be hard for them to take part because there is a fair bit of reading involved.
There is a lot of statues and mini exhibitions for you to look at and read about, it is very intriguing reading about odd facts.
When I first visited the museum I was in awe at all the big statues, including the moving ones in the foyer of the venue. I have always wanted to go there but I was unsure if the admission price would be worth it, but I can tell you now - it certainly is!
Adult admission costs $24.90,students and seniors are $20.90 and children aged 5-12 are $15.90. You can save money by booking online.
My favourite thing inside the museum were these very old crickets that had been preserved and made to look like Michael Jackson. It was very weird but cool at the same time.
The Ripley's museum is a great place to add to your to-do list if you are visiting the Gold Coast away from the theme parks and wanting to give your family memories they'll remember forever.
One of the best parts about this venue is that it is open every single day of the year with limited hours on Anzac Day and New Year's Day.
You will also find they are open late during peak times closing up at 11pm, so you will have stacks of time to venture there when on holidays.
Included with the Odditorium is the laser force mission for an additional price. I did not try this personally, but I have read really great reviews about it online.
To get through the whole museum will take around one hour, to one a half, depending if you look at every single attraction. It is definitely great value for money in my opinion.
