The revamped playspace at Ringwood Lake is a fantastic asset for the City of Maroondah and in my humble opinion, was worth every penny spent on it!



A beloved park in the City of Maroondah for many years, the playspace has now been revamped to include wonderful natural play elements such as wooden animal sculptures, sand and water play and lovely a network of wheelchair accessible trails where children can wander or wheel through the existing mature trees.

The playspace has been designed to be accessible for all abilities and includes a liberty swing and a wheelchair accessible carousel which seems to be a hit with all children.

There are several slides at the new playground – of varying heights, which cater to small children through to older ones. There are also a number of climbing opportunities.



In addition to new playground equipment, the barbeque and picnic areas have also been renovated and take advantage of the location next to the lake. There are plenty of shady spots to throw down a picnic rug too.



The park itself is 8.5 hectares in area and has a wonderful walking circuit around the lake and through bushland. Young and old alike can enjoy the bridge over the lake where duck viewing is optimal. The park also adjoins the Heathmont Rail Trail cycle path.

There are public toilets at the park and a water station to fill your own water bottle or to drink from. The only potential downside is that the playspace is not fully fenced from the lake or from Maroondah Highway, so do make sure to keep your littlies under close supervision!

Overall, a highly recommended destination in Melbourne's East.
