The Tour Down Under heads to town in mid-January and the first event on the cycling calendar is the annual Ride Like Crazy fundraising Dinner.
On Friday 16 January 2015, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre will be the place to be for cycling enthusiasts as the Lightsview Ride Like Crazy Dinner is held to raise valuable funds for cancer research at the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer and Neurosurgical Research Foundation.
Champion Australian cyclist Simon Gerrans will be joined by SBS cycling expert Mike Tomalaris as they regale dinner guests with their discussion about a broad range of cycling issues. Starting at 7.00 pm, guests will enjoy a sumptuous three course meal and beverages while being entertained by The Band of the South Australia Police. Individual tickets are $135 and $1300 for a table of ten. Packages include the three course meal, beer and wine.
With the
Lightsview Ride Like Crazy mass participation cycling event being held on Sunday, 18 January 2015, the dinner is sure to be popular. Race in to book your tickets by contacting the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation on 8204 5216 or visit the
Ride Like Crazy website or their
facebook page for more details.
Since 2010 the Ride Like Crazy event and dinner has attracted over 9,500 riders and donated a staggering $836,700 to charity. Since 2011, the FMC Foundation has received $320,000 from Ride Like Crazy which has been invested into cancer research equipment in the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer and was also used to create the Neurological Tumour Bank within the SA Brain Bank.
