Challenge yourself for a day in a wheelchair obstacle course
If anyone has had an injury, been incapacitated or had to use a walking stick or crutches for a period of time, they would have an appreciation of what it would be like to be troubled by injury for an entire lifetime. Many of us take for granted the ability to get up each morning with ease, yet, how long do you think it would take you to go 100 metres in a wheelchair or negotiate obstacles in an obstacle course? If you are not used to it, I presume it would be incredibly hard but not impossible.
Ride a Day in My Wheels is an event, which was invented by Studio ARTES, which is a member of Oliver House to raise funds and also raise awareness to help everyone look at life from a different perspective. Take the challenge and register today.
Already a total of $2,943.20 has been raised and organisers are hoping much more can be accomplished by the event days of Friday 7th December for Corporate Challenges and Saturday 8th December for Community Challenge and Market Day. You can start fundraising yourself by creating an individual page, create a team or joining an existing team. Information on this can be located on their website. If you cannot challenge yourself, you may like to give a donation.
Studio ARTES offers creative tailor-made programs for adults with disabilities. The programs are offered across Sydney, however, their main sites are in Hornsby and the Inner West. Studio ARTES was established in 2000.
