But first, in the lead-up to the Ricotta Festival, That's Amore Cheese are hosting a beautiful Sicilian-themed dinner in collaboration with Vino Bambino, with wines from Barone di Villagrande (Mt Etna) and Avide (Ragusa) at their Cheesery! Every course will celebrate their beloved ricotta and traditional Sicilian cuisine and will be perfectly matched with Sicilian wines. At the Festival on 17 March you'll find huge vats of fresh hot ricotta, Italian food and drinks pop-ups, a local producer marketplace, entertainment for the whole family, and for the first time, by people’s demand, a cooking demonstration. Here's an idea; on arrival, grab a plate of hot ricotta and add a delicious Sicilian-style sausage, share a wood-fired pizza with your friends and indulge in a gluten-free donut. Finish it off with ricotta cannoli or a scoop of gelato. Drinks will include spritz, cocktails, wines, beers and Italian soft drinks. As you snack, browse through the marketplace and stock up on salumi, local honey, vinocotto, pasta, Italian chilli oil, and much more. There's plenty of entertainment for the kids too with a petting zoo, a mobile play centre, face painting and handball games hosted by the Carlton Football Club Fan Van.
It doesn't get better than Guy and Carlo Gross, Pia Gava, Andrea Cozzolino, Puopolo Artisan Salumi, and Darren Purchese at the helm of cooking demos and masterclasses.
