Interests and hobbies leave us richer with knowledge, mollifying the raging curiosity of our hungry minds. Philately and Numismatics are two such fields that should be defined as studies rather than hobbies to completely justify their meanings. Philately encompasses not only the collection of postage stamps but also the study of stamp design, methods of printing & separation, overprints, security markings, forgeries, postal history, postal stationeries, so on and so forth. Likewise Numismatics revolves around collection and study of coins, notes, stocks, bonds and anything that is related to money.
To encourage philatelists and numismatists and celebrate the very spirit of these hobbies, the Richmond Stamp Club (established in 1975) is holding its Annual Stamp and Coin Show at St Monica's Church Hall in Richmond on 16th April, 2016 from 9am to 3pm.
In addition to the wide selection of Stamps, Covers, Thematics, Cinderellas (objects that look like postage stamps but are seals or labels), Accessories and Club Circuit Books to chose and buy from Clubs and Dealers, there will also be exhibits and raffles. You can also purchase some antique paraphernalia which will be on sale, to house your collection. This might be a good chance to gather uncommon stamps and coins at a better price than bidding for them at online auctions.
As for getting to the venue, you can either take the train to East Richmond and walk the 100 meters to St Monica's Church Hall or drive there and park your car in the off-street parking lot which is free for visitors.
Hope the 16th of April enriches your unique collection.
