Located in the picturesque, semi-rural town of Richmond in the Hawkesbury region, the
showcases freshly grown produce direct from local farmers and quality food producers. The markets are held every Saturday from 8am-1pm at Richmond Park.
Visiting the market is a chance to support local farms and agriculture as well as save money by buying directly from the producers. Since locally sourced foods don't have far to travel, the food you purchase at the markets is sure to be ripe and fresh. You can also meet the local growers and find out exactly how your food was raised, unlike the anonymity of mass-produced fruit and vegetables you find at the supermarket giants.
As well as fresh fruit and veg, the markets are home to over 40 other vendors selling artisan food & beverages, various handmade goods like soaps and candles, plants, and clothing. Here are just some of the stalls you can expect to find on a Saturday morning.
The Herb Store – for organically grown tea.
Hillbilly Cider – organic, locally produced cider and wine.
Café Cornerstone – for your caffeine fix.
Gourmet Cupcakes - for the sweet tooths out there.
The Fresh Drink Stand – selling freshly squeezed lemonade.
So whether you live in the area or just fancy a day trip to the beautiful Hawkesbury region then be sure to drop by the Richmond markets for some fresh locally grown and handmade produce.
