Richard Avedon People is a brand new exhibition featuring some of the most beautiful people of the twentieth century. Richard Avedon People will be on display at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, and will run from Saturday 2nd August, 2014 until Monday 17th November, 2014.



Proudly brought to you by the Art Gallery of Western Austalia , this collection showcases the exquisite black and white photographic images taken by American photographer Richard Avedon, between 1949 and 2002.

The collection contains approximately eighty photographs, including ground-breaking fashion photography as well as stunning portraits of many twentieth century icons such as Elizabeth Taylor, Malcolm X, Truman Capote, Bob Dylan, and Kate Moss.

Richard Avedon is considered to be one of the most influential photographers of our time. He had a long and illustrious photographic career, working for magazines such as 'Harper's Bazaar' and Vogue. The 'People' exhibition features many instantly recognisable and influential artists, celebrities, and political activists alongside portraits of people who are now unknown or long forgotten.

'People' is the first solo exhibition of Richard Avedon's work to be displayed in Western Australia. Don't miss the rare opportunity to view this iconic collection of visually stunning pieces.



Tickets for the Richard Avedon People exhibition will cost $14.00 for Adults, $12.00 for Concession holders, $10.00 for Pre-Booked Groups of Ten, and Children twelve years of age and under are admitted free. Tickets can be purchased on-line , or from the front desk of the Art Gallery.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia is open to the public from Wednesday to Monday (closed on Tuesdays), between 10am and 5pm.
