Calling all burger lovers! Get excited because Ribs and Burgers opened last week and it's a food lover's dream.

Slip into your loosest fitting, elastic waisted, food baby anticipated clothing and make your way to Trafalgar Lane at Woolloongabba.

This place is serious about creating a food experience so believe me when I say you are going to want to pace yourself.

All the meats at Ribs & Burgers are free range, grass fed, antibiotic-free and steroid-free and cut to order. The grilling process is unique to the restaurant and the recipes and techniques used have been passed down through generations.

I recommend you start with Chicken wings with ranch dip, Sweet Potato Fries with aioli or maybe you are more Chip and Crispy Onion Rings type. Whichever food adventure you choose just remember...pace yourself!

I found the menu to be a bit of an issue because...how do you pick just one burger? I imagine this is what it would feel like if you were asked to pick a favourite child?



The Thick Shakes are 'suck until you look like a goldfish' thick and taste amazing. I had the Vanilla Malt while I waited for my Wagu Burger.

If you are salivating as you stare at the above photo let me introduce you to the super fresh Apple Lamb Burger - Lamb patty, green apple, rocket, onion, blue cheese mayonnaise and aioli. Need a bib? Hold on, the handsome burger next to it is The Wagu Burger - Wagu patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, crispy onion rings with BBQ & Aunty Joan's pink sauce.

Remember how I asked you to pace yourself? I keep mentioning it because regret is horrible thing. I was only half way through The Wagu when I had to call it quits... Oh believe me, I feel as ashamed of me as you do. In my defence the ribs and salads had arrived.

Slow cooked for eight hours, then grilled with home-made basting, the Ribs were prepared with the intent of being instantly devoured. Pork, Beef or Lamb Ribs are served with chips or seeded slaw.

There are few healthy options a good example is The Naked. The Naked is a lettuce cup filled with rocket, grilled pumpkin, tomato & onion salsa, avocado with your choice of Beef, Chicken or Mushroom.

Ribs and Burgers has an old world feel. Meat grinders and old photos bring character and history to the space. It's almost a subliminal reassurance that you can relax because they have been perfecting their craft long enough to know exactly what they are doing.

It may only be their second store in Brisbane but nationally they have quite a few.

Place it on your MUST do list and remember - Elastic Waisted Pants!
