Packing A Punch On James Street
Ribs and Burgers is located on James Street, Fortitude Valley and is one of those places that you know you will end up succumbing to on a Friday night. If you take a seat and start with drinks, before too long you will be elbow deep in crunchy fries, 8-hour-slow cooked smokey smothered ribs and onto your fourth or fifth beverage; a constant occurrence for Ribs and Burgers.
Entering James Street's Ribs and Burgers establishment gives you a warm nostalgic feeling of being inside a 1940's diner. The decor is inviting with long leather seating, wooden benches and unique, quirky walls tiled as if they are bricks. Heading to the counter you will immediately be welcomed by the staff who are extremely pleasant and attentive.
Scanning the menu at the eatery is one challenging task. Every single item on the list makes your mouth water and your tummy grumble just that little bit more.
After much deliberation a friend and I decided we loved carbs too much to go for the 'naked burger' option (as the name suggests it is basically a full burger but without the bun). The winner in the end was of course the 2 Mini burgers 1 beef, 1 chicken, side chips.
Reaching our table almost 10 minutes later were two delicious burgers with a side of crunchy chips and dipping sauces. The mini burgers were extremely cute and very flavoursome for their size. They were however, consumed quickly and upon final consumption we wished that we had opted for their bigger counterparts with a side of ribs. There is always next time.
Ribs and Burgers has thirteen outlets currently. The majority are of course in NSW and Victoria. I do however believe that within a few years there will be many more Ribs and Burgers popping up around the place. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere in the restaurant is just the right amount of lively and relaxed.
