My early career was in teaching, writing, producing and directing for theatre, comedy and impro shows. Now I'm a professional creative person. Mostly high-end branding, strategy, writing, editing and digital content creation.
Diners can eat in at the James Street location with comfy booths and tables inside or tables and a bar in the alfresco area for those who love the 'sunshine' part of living in the sunshine state. Ribs & Burgers also provides takeaway food for those trying to squeeze a decent feed into their busy lives.
The cutlery and sauces come in groovy old fashioned kettles that would make hipsters swoon. Ribs & Burgers' décor is wrought iron, metal, and wood, with retro style lighting and vintage gadgets on display. The large chalkboard menu greets you as you enter from James Street to place your order at the counter before taking a seat.
The staff are friendly and they don't smother you with interruptions like those at some other venues. The open kitchen allows you to observe the chefs in action from the right vantage point. The atmosphere feels alive and upbeat, with the music and bustling surrounds adding to the vibe.
The menu boasts ribs, burgers, chicken and steak, a kids menu, salads, chips and onion rings. Many meals are served on a board or in retro tin plates that add to the down-to-earth feeling of authenticity. But for me, the absolute best thing about Ribs & Burgers is their signature 'Pink Sauce'. I don't know what they put in it, but I think I am addicted! Luckily my mother taught me not to drink sauce right from the bottle or I could have created quite a stir during my last visit.
