What about camping underground. No, I'm not talking about some dusty, dirty cave. I'm talking about really nice clean camping but all underground.

Welcome to Riba's Underground Camping and Tourist Park In Coober Pedy.



Their motto promises to experience the fun of underground camping. In a unique slant on living in a dug out, Riba has created underground camping.

Bring along a tent and drive or walk into the large underground campground and pitch your tent somewhere. Just keep in mind it is stone underground and you may need a drill to get in your tent pegs in and certainly a foam mat to sleep on.

They have powered and unpowered sites available and a range of budget underground rooms. It is especially quiet underground so you will sleep peacefully, keep in mind it is dark and therefore an alarm clock to tell you what time of the day it is will be handy.

Riba's also offer a comprehensive evening mine tour and as a special offer, your first night of camping is free if you make a booking with them for the tour. Riba's is located on the right hand side of the road, before you arrive in Coober Pedy if you are coming from Adelaide.

You will see the sign as you arrive and you need to go up a dirt road to get there.
