For those of us who are a little bit cracked
We can all be a little bit 'potty' sometimes, so if you love nothing more than a day in an art gallery, admiring artworks and contemplating your own humanity - this is an exhibition for you.
Rhys Lee, Untitled 1, 2012

Melbourne based artist and 2012 Archibald Prize Finalist, Rhys Lee, brings his new exhibition, Cracked Pots, to Venn Art Gallery from 8 February - 22 March 2013.

Cracked Pots, explores the fissures and crazed elements of the human psyche. The exhibition features many small freeform works in Lee's distinctive portraiture style, with the centrepiece being a large 10 metre painting, uniquely developed within the Venn Gallery space to be unveiled on opening night.

Rich in texture, colour and depth, as is typical of Lee's style, these works depict a range of characters and beings from the abyss, invoking in the viewer a haunted feeling that stays with you long after you've left the gallery space. Lee has a way of developing work that imprints in your mind.

Rhys Lee has shown his work in exhibitions all over Australia and extensively overseas including the Philippines and New York.

If you're looking for a new exhibition to excite your senses - check it out!

Gallery opening hours Tues-Sat 10:00am - 5:00pm, Fri 10am -7pm
