I've crowed about SParms and their reusable face masks in the past, just a little over a year ago in fact, and talked about their cool, yet sun protective clothing. I've personally used both apparels and I'm fully sold on their products as the fabric is really breathable and light, and cups the face well - provided you buy the correct size for you. Comfortable, cooling and breathable is exactly what is needed with summer on the horizon. Everything is SPF50 plus, making it an added benefit to the masks, even though they're not being worn for sun protection.

However, keep in mind that SParms are transparent in mentioning that the masks look and feel good, but they're not medical grade with only having two layers, and the recommended protection is three. However, they do comply with government regulations about wearing a mask that is breathable, comfortable, efficient and covers the face well with little or no gaps, and sustainable in the long term. Find out more on their Facebook and website.

In addition, the chosen fabrics are very sophisticated in that they incorporate silver nano (V3) and (V2) copper yarns. Both these properties are well known for anti-bacterial properties. There are similar antibacterial copper face masks on the market, but you'll find they're much thicker and 3 times the price of SParms (on average $14.95 per mask), who have now upped the anti. Their new and improved Nanosilver V3 reusable face mask is stretchier, with softer improved fabric for even more comfort and breathability, with a generous range in size. The simplified logo makes it sleek and fashionable, yet just as comfortable and elegant looking in the sporting arena or for that corporate look in bad (good) to the bone black. It's also available in pink, violet, grey, slate grey and navy.

Do note that not all colours and sizes have the new design in stock. SParms will be phasing out of their original V3 face masks and some sizes/colours will be fulfilled in the new version. Recognising that smaller faces need well-fitting face masks, their V3 face mask is available in smaller sizes suitable for toddlers' as young as 18 months. The V2 copper mask is on sale at the moment with 25% off. It has limited colours and is still sporting the older logo, but in no way does that have any impact on its effectiveness. If it's 100% cotton you're after, they also have the V1, which is the original reusable cotton copper face mask. You can also grab a Mask Strap, as no way would you want to lose these quality masks.

You can also go the whole kit and caboodle with a Fabric Face Mask Hygiene Kit. With the current promotion, you get a free extra mask (that's $30 worth of masks and more in a $24.95 kit) in a kit that also includes the whizz-bang extras of a 50ml plant-based sanitiser spray, 1 mask strap and a reusable case.

On a personal note, as someone with respiratory issues (asthma), I found it very breathable and it lasted a lot longer than the recommended usage time of 3 months. Keep in mind that the cotton ones have an extra two months of usage. Going out for the allowed 2 hours each day for exercise, and wearing the mask for only that length of time, I got 6 months wear out of it - washing it every single day. The mask does not disintegrate - it just gets a little more stretched, and was snaffled away by a close, immediate family member with a bigger face. I found that to be very economical and the fact that it was reusable and therefore more sustainable was also a bonus for the planet. When I walk down the street, I much prefer the look of my sleek and tidy mask, with all the other added bonus of breathability and more. Do follow the links and get to know SParms. You won't be sorry.

Your Comment
Really can’t see the point of a mask that complies with government requirements when it doesn’t protect you from the reason for wearing it which is COVID.
