The self proclaimed 'Evil love child of Liza Minnelli and Jim Carrey', Reuben Kaye, has bought his latest show "Success Story" to Le Cascadeur at The Garden of Unearthly Delights.
He begins in a self deprecating way but soon the acid tongue comes out along with the filthy hilarious stories of his success. This rollicking cabaret is full of laughs, pop culture references and razzing of the audience. Beware, Reuben loves to wander through the crowd picking people out, but don't worry he won't let you steal his limelight.
This is true cabaret with costumes inspired by the androgynous Fossy look with a heavy dose of drag bling, with each costume change getting more elaborate and glitzy. His strong but beautiful voice has earnt him the title of 'fallen angel'. In collaboration with his band, the K-holes, he seamlessly goes from song to storytelling and back to jesting at/with the audience. His band is as talented as he is, they are clearly a tight team and they elegantly and skillfully support him throughout the show.
Reuben Kaye's Success Story is one each night, besides Mondays, at 9:45pm and is a great way to finish your night at the Garden, or, even better, to begin a big night out.
