When you enter
Retrorocket you are entering the world of a passionate and knowledgeable business owner and her unique collection of books, vintage goods and curios.
Her dream stemmed from a genuine interest in items from a bygone era. Kylie has always been a collector of retro kitchenalia, and with donations from friends and family and by sourcing pieces from other suppliers she has enough hand-picked stock to hold her own in the business of vintage and retro collectables.
Armed with the knowledge she learned from the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme in 2010, she is out to prove to her mentors that there is money to be made in old Tupperware as well as other retro era collectables. This business knowledge, in partnership with her love of old things has got her to where she is today. The shop Retrorocket is the fruit of her labours.
Previously holding a market stall at the Wanneroo Markets for seven months she has now expanded to more permanent premises in Dianella. Her goods are set up beautifully for casual browsing and perusing. It's also the perfect place to make a purchase to add a conversation piece to your household or to find that hidden gem for your own collection. Not to mention, it is a great place to go and grab a gift for the person who has everything.
The store has an eclectic collection of glassware, containers and canisters (with particular focus on 1970s kitchenware) as well as shelves of science fiction, crime and non-fiction books and punk rock, goth and metal LPs and EPs that are all available for purchase. Kylie also supports the artistic talents of her good friend
Steve Makse and a selection of his available work can be seen adorning the walls.
Frugal Fridays is a new feature at Retrorocket - where there will be a 10% discount on items for all concession card holders every Friday.
Retrorocket is the place you can head to if you have an item that you are curious to find out more information about, or are wanting to sell. Kylie will be more than happy to have a chat to you about the item and share her knowledge with the aim of both parties benefiting from the exchange.
Opening less than a year ago, proprietor Kylie Jakobsen has created a shop borne from her interest in the past. After a visit you will also be caught up in her genuine passion and love which will drive her success from strength to strength.
